Campsite Notes is a personal camping journal app. We take your privacy seriously and want to be transparent about what data we collect and how we use it.
What Data We Store
When you use Campsite Notes, we store the following information:
- Account Information: Your email address and password (securely hashed)
- Trips: Trip names, dates, destinations, notes, ratings, and expenses you enter
- Campsites: Campsite names, locations, notes, and ratings you save
- Photos: Photos you upload to document your camping adventures
- Calendar Events: Trip dates and reminders you create
How Photos Are Stored
Photos you upload are stored securely on our servers. We create smaller thumbnail versions for faster loading. Your photos are private and only visible to you when logged into your account. We do not share, sell, or use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.
Analytics
We may collect anonymous usage data to help improve Campsite Notes. This includes things like which features are used most often and general performance metrics. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
Deleting Your Data
You own your data. If you want to delete your account and all associated data (trips, campsites, photos, and notes), you can do so from your Account Settings page, or contact us and we'll help you out.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Secure password hashing
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
